it's all of 2 1/2 miles...
but we didn't make it nearly all the way to the end (we'll save Bunker Hill for another day). The Boston Freedom Trail is designed to take sightseers to 16 historical sites (it usually takes people about two or three hours) and covers two and a half centuries of some of America's most significant past.
YEAH CELTICS!!!

The State Capitol Building & the beginning of our tiring self-guided tour!

I LOVE THIS GUY!!

Some of America’s most notable citizens & Revolutionary heroes rest here in Granary Burying Ground, including John Hancock, Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, James Otis, all five of the Boston Massacre victims, Benjamin Franklin’s parents and Peter Faneuil.

Jeff participating in a street show at Faneuil Hall Market Place!

"Where everybody knows your name, and you're always glad you came..."

taking a break to hide from the rain and eat the yummy lunch Jeffrey packed for us!

A red brick (or in some cases a red painted line) connects the sites on the Trail and serves as a guide.

Boston Harbor

That's the Paul Revere Statue behind me... and the Old North Church just beyond...

"One if by land, and two if by sea"

Since the past and the present live alongside the Trail, we had the opportunity to see Boston as it truly is.

Hailey made us this chicken, broccoli, cheese, croissant pie thing when we got home.... it was so delicious!! (Jennifer provided the salad & dressing... i provided... um.... oh yeah, the brownies & ice cream for dessert!!!)
